Danny loved music from an early age. At 5 he played piano, organ and guitar. At 9 he started playing the trumpet. After moving to Maui, he worked at Music Sales, a Maui music store. He sold guitars and pianos and also learned how to rebuild and repair them.

In 1975 he began working at a Yamaha store where he was trained in tuning and piano regulation, voicing and action repair. While working for Yamaha, he was also trained in sales. He received technical training from Mr. Von Raven of Germany and Mr. Yoshi, both chief technicians for Yamaha. Later he trained with Pat Green, a technician with extensive knowledge of rebuilding grand pianos.

In 1979, Danny started his own service business. In his career on Maui he serviced pianos for George Benson, Fleetwood Mac, Willie Nelson, Carol Burnett, Seals and Croft, Bonnie Riatt and many, many more.

After moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 1987, he serviced several of the metro music stores before opening Piano Crafters Incorp..

1993-1994 Steinway

This is a D Model, 9ft Steinway.  These majestic pianos are the pinnacles of the Steinway name.  It's sound is dynamic and it will fill any size hall with it's exceptionally full tone.  This particular piano was featured in 1996 at Steinway Hall where many artists signed it.  It was also signed by the last family member to lead the Steinway company, Henry Z. Steinway.

About the Model D
Virtually all critical design elements of the Steinway 'D' were developed during the 19th century. Among them are the action and string scale designs perfected by Henry Steinway, Jr., the company founder's son; the hammers, cast iron frame and laminated wooden rim, all originating in designs patented by C.F. Theodor Steinway, another of the founder's sons; the trapwork (pedals), first devised by Albert Steinway, a third son; and most aspects of the soundboard. Since those early years, only two notable improvements have been made: a concentric shaping of the soundboard, a design patented by younger family member Paul Bilhuber, was introduced in 1936; more recently the Steinway action was changed to provide a greater mechanical advantage to the player, resulting in less touch resistance with no loss of power.
