The following Practice Tips have been compiled for you by our past and present teachers.
We hope these help you get through the not-so-easy practice sessions, so you can enjoy the results of all that work you put into your craft!
What's a good practice session?
1) First of all, one that actually happens. Try to make that possible for yourself by scheduling specific times that can turn into a habit.
Decide what your own priorities are and share that with the people around you.
2) The blocks of time do not have to be long. A productive session will probably include:
some technical exercises
some review of old favorites
work on something currently in progress
exploring something new
3) Having a routine, a sequence of the above elements that works for you, makes it easy to begin and easy to feel as successful as you are.
Your heart will feel good if you balance pop with classics, and your brain will feel nourished if you include both something challenging and
something where youÌre sure to succeed right away.
4) Plan to share the results with someone. You deserve the applause!
