At Piano Crafters, we have university-trained teachers who are members of the Georgia Music Teachers Association (GMTA), and who enjoy helping others learn to play music! We look forward to getting you on your way to playing the piano like a pro!

Tammy Kimbell

Tammy KimbellTammy teaches piano and voice lessons at Piano Crafters. She graduated from Atlanta Baptist College with a major in Elementary Education.  Her music minor was completed at Pensacola Christian College.

Tammy has been teaching private piano and voice for over 20 years. She teaches group lessons, music theory classes, piano, and vocal performance on all levels.  She specializes in preparing students for college music auditions, theatrical auditions, and general performance.

From 1991-2007, Tammy taught at a local Christian school where she was the Fine Arts Coordinator, School Choir Director, and English Grammar/Composition teacher. She joined Piano Crafters as a teacher in September, 2007.

Tammy and her family sing together and are actively involved local events and their church.  She is dog-lover and works regularly with the local humane society.

Nancy Lewis

Nancy.jpgNancy Lewis Graduated Valdosta State with an Education Degree.  She has had continuing education in the Suzuki Method and repertoire. 

Ms. Lewis is qualified to teach all levels.  Although she is especially qualified in the Suzuki Method, Nancy also teaches traditional piano.

She also holds a recital at Piano Crafters once a year and two Graduation Concerts at Spivey Hall with Suzuki.

 

Phyllis LaFon

Phylis.jpgMrs. LaFon teaches piano, group theory and voice at Piano Crafters in Newnan, Georgia.

She has a Bachelor of Music degree from New York State Teachers College, S.U. C. at Fredonia and her post-graduate work was completed primarily at S.U.C., Potsdam, N.Y.

Experience:

    Over thirty years of private piano teaching. Taught in central school district in western N.Y. for 6 years. Substitute Elementary classroom teacher and General Music teacher at Landmark Christian School during a period of 5 years. On staff as the initiator of a keyboard class for children aged 3-6 at the South Fulton Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Member of the Coweta-Fayette Music Teacher’s Assoc. and has served as Secretary and Vice President of Student Affairs in this organization. Former member of MENC and current member of MTNA, both national organizations. Current MTNA chair for State Theory and State Piano Auditions at the local Coweta- Fayette area. This allows her students to participate in the state theory exams and piano auditions. Member of NFMTC-her students who have participated in this organization’s annual Spring Festival over the last eight years have received Superior ratings.

Her students have the opportunity to give at least 2 recitals a year.

Natasha Gilbert

Natasha_Gilbert.jpgMs. Gilbert began studying music at the age of seven, and progressed at a very early age to the Chaikovskogo Music College in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Her studies included performance, music theory, harmony, polyphony, instruments, solfegio, and music literature.

One of her instructors was a professional composer whose music was performed at the Ekaterinburg Philharmonic Theater.

Ms. Gilbert wrote music for piano, viola, clarinet, and flute, which she performed every spring during yearly concerts for the school.

Upon graduation, Ms. Gilbert became a music teacher at the local school, teaching piano, music theory, solfegio, and music literature to children aged six to sixteen.

Ms. Gilbert moved to the U.S. in 1999, and began teaching privately. She accepted a position as a piano instructor at the Community Education School in Lakeville, MN. There she taught students aged five to fourteen.

Now she teaches piano for Piano Crafters, and looks forward to meeting you!

Pam Aldredge

Pam_.jpgPam Aldredge is a music Instructor based in Newnan Ga. Ms Aldredge teaches Guitar, BassGuitar and Piano.Ms Aldredge has been a director of music in churches for over 35 years. She traveled the united states and many foreign countries singing and playing with her family.Through out her career she has recorded 6 albums and written songs ,plays and being a entrepreneur owned a recording studio and Donut Shop. Her Mother was her first piano teacher and she has trained under many teachers and instructors, work shops and private lessons since she was 8 years old also attending Clayton state and Garden College.Ms Pam’s goal is help a student to become a well balanced musician with excellent music ability.

Vanessa Vaughn Robbins

Vanessa_Vaughn_Robbins.jpgVanessa V. Robbins is a consummate professional who began teaching piano while in college. She holds a BS degree in Communications from Georgia State University and a Masters of Divinity degree from Luther Rice University.

After more than 25 years of working in the broadcast media industry, Vanessa returned to her first love 6 years ago, teaching music in the Newnan area. Her goal is to motivate people through the creative expressions of the arts. She began playing the piano at the age of 9 and served as a musician of the church for many years. She has taught drama, as well as performed in several theatrical productions. Vanessa continues to study improv and drama and enjoys sharing these techniques in her life’s work.
